Location: Ann Arbor, MI (In-Office) Some travel required.
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 (Based on Experience & Qualifications) + Bonus
Position Overview
Tropolis is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Personal Lines to lead our personal lines business across the platform. Based at our Ann Arbor headquarters, this role will set the vision, oversee operations, and collaborate across functions to scale personal lines with consistency, profitability, and service excellence.
The Director will work closely with our Director of Revenue and Carrier Relations, CFO, CEO, Agency Partners, M&A team, and integration team to optimize performance and help shape the future of personal lines at Tropolis.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead the personal lines strategy to support growth, profitability, and consistency across the organization

Collaborate with agency partners to align business goals and support their success
- Support M&A evaluations and contribute to integration planning for acquired personal lines operations

Partner with the Director of Revenue and Carrier Relations to manage and expand market access and carrier relationships
- Coordinate with the CFO on revenue metrics, carrier economics, and margin targets
- Work with the integration team to standardize personal lines operations across agencies
- Engage with producers and the broader sales team to strengthen client retention and cross-sell efforts
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in personal lines insurance, including 3+ years in a leadership role
- Proven success managing personal lines operations and growing high-performing teams
- Deep knowledge of products, underwriting, and personal lines carrier relationships
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to lead across a multi-agency platform
- Michigan P&C license required
